



The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 93 people in a series of anti-crime and anti-drug operations across the capital over the past two days, recovering 54 kilograms of cannabis and seizing vehicles allegedly used for drug trafficking.
Police said 30 suspects were arrested during separate raids in Mugda, Uttara West and Turag on Sunday, while another 30 people were detained during a special operation conducted by Mirpur Model Police Station on Monday.
Those arrested include suspects involved in regular cases, warrant cases and various criminal activities, according to police.
During an operation in Uttara West, police recovered 40 grams of cannabis from the suspects.
In a separate operation early Monday, traffic police and Jatrabari police intercepted a private car at a checkpoint in Jatrabari and arrested three alleged drug traffickers.
Police recovered 44 kilograms of cannabis from the vehicle and seized the car allegedly used for carrying the drugs.
Meanwhile, Khilkhet police conducted another anti-drug raid late Sunday at the Mastul checkpoint, arresting three people and recovering 10 kilograms of cannabis from a microbus.
The vehicle was also seized.
Police said legal proceedings have been filed against all those arrested, and investigations are underway.
