Army deployed in flood-hit areas

Army personnel were deployed to seven upazilas in Chattogram district to help contain the impact of dreadful floods and landslides in the district, said the ISPR in a press release on Friday.

Troops were deployed to assist the local administration under the “In Aid to Civil Power” scheme.

Bangladesh Army’s 10th infantry division has been deployed to four upazilas: Lohagara, Satkaniya, Chandanaish, and Bashkhali.

The Army’s 24th infantry division has been deployed to three more upazilas: Boalkhali, Hathazari, and Fatikchhari.

The army personnel would work towards rescuing waterlogged and stranded people, and also conduct urgent relief efforts in the affected areas, the ISPR release added.
