Cultural Ministry stands by ailing Shabnam Mustari

Shabnam Mustari, a renowned Nazrul music artiste, has been battling illness for
a long time.

This time, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs has come forward to support the artist. On Saturday, Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury and State Minister Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayyam visited the artiste’s house.

A press release from the ministry said that Shabnam Mustari has been undergoing treatment for a long time due to age-related complications and dementia.

Upon learning of her illness, the minister and state minister went to her home to inquire about her physical condition and spoke to her family members.

At this time, the Artistes Welfare Trust under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs handed over a check for financial assistance of Tk 5 lakh for the singer’s emergency treatment.
