




One of the most talked about organisations in the film industry is Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association. And whenever its elections come, the level of discussion reaches its peak. However, this time,
no mudslinging has been seen so far. Therefore, those concerned are hoping that a peaceful election is going to be held.
The elections for the 2026-28 term of Film Artistes’ Association will be held on July 3. As usual, voting will be held at the BFDC. Two panels are contesting in this election.
Who are the candidates in the two panels? Let’s find out the full list. Fight director and actor Arman is running for the post of president in a panel, while actress Rumana Islam Mukti is running for the post of general secretary.
Actress Nutan and villain Ilyas Kobra are running for the post of vice-president in this panel. Actress Rina Khan is running for the post of assistant general secretary.
Chunnu is running for the post of organising secretary, M A Parvez Chowdhury Abir is running for the post of international affairs secretary, Russell Mia is running for the post of office and publicity secretary, Maruf Aqib is running for the post of culture and sports secretary, and villain actor Komol is running
for the post of treasurer.
Besides, Manas Banerjee, Dulari, Raka, Sharmin Akhter, Latif (Cheetah), Nasreen, Sushant, Shaheen Comedy, Badol Sheikh, Armaan Khan and Shamim Khan (Chikon Ali) are contesting for the post of executive council members.
In another panel, actor Shiba Shanu is running for the post of president, along with Joy Chowdhury for the post of general secretary. Actress Rozina and actor D A Tayeb are running for the post of vice-president.
Subrata is running for the post of assistant general secretary, Sony Rahman for the post of organising secretary, Riana Parvin Poli for the post of international affairs secretary, Jackie Alamgir for the post of office and publicity secretary, Moshfekul Jamil Kakon for the post of culture and sports secretary, and Jadu Azad is running for the post of treasurer. In the panel, Ali Raj, Farhad, Kabila, Eamin Haque Bobby, Kayes Arju, Shirin Shila, Shipon Mitra, Hasan Jahangir, Falguni Rahman Jolly, Firoz Shahi and Jasmine Akhter are contesting for the post of executive council members.
Voting will begin at 9:00am on Friday. It will continue till 6:00pm. This time the Election Commissioner is Kamal Md Kibria Lipu.
The number of voters this time is 573. The new committee
will be elected by their votes.
