Truck owner electrocuted in Rangamati

A truck owner was electrocuted at Reserve Bazaar area in the district town on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Faij Ahmed, 65.
Locals and family members of the victim said on Friday morning Faij Ahmed was cleaning his own truck. Suddenly, he touched a live electric wire and was electrocuted. His son and a timber trader Jafor Ahmed was also injured when he tried to rescue his father.
Locals alleged that the accident happened due to fault of Power Development Board (PDB) staff.
Earlier on Thursday evening, the locals complained to the PDB when the electric line was sparking, but PDB lineman did not repair it.
