Shilpakala Academy organises electronic music workshop, live show

To bring together the sounds of modern urban life, technology and creativity, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) has organised an event titled ‘Notun Shobdo: Electronic Music Workshop and Stage Performance.’

The event was held on Saturday at the National Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of BSA, said a press release.

In the release, the BSA said that the day-long programme begun with an electronic music workshop from 11:00am to 6:00pm.

Participants had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of electronic music, including sound design, beat-making, live setup techniques, and the basic use of music software and hardware.

The workshop was conducted by Shadwaan Chowdhury, Nazmus Sakib and Hasib Mahmud, and is aimed at young and emerging musicians, sound artistes, and members of the new generation interested in music.

The second part of the programme featured a live electronic music performance from 7:00pm to 9:30pm.

Contemporary electronic musicians and sound artistes actively engaged in Bangladesh’s electronic music scene took part in the performance.

The event was jointly organised by the Training and Production Departments of the BSA under the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh.
