28 accident-hit families receive assistance

Financial assistance cheques were distributed among 28 families affected by road accidents ,as part of a joint initiative by the Narayanganj District Administration and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).

The cheque distribution ceremony was held on Wednesday in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Narayanganj and was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Md Raihan Kabir.

While distributing the cheques, the Deputy Commissioner said that road accidents cause irreparable losses not only to individual families but also to society as a whole.

He emphasized that it is the government’s moral responsibility to stand beside those who have lost loved ones or suffered injuries in such tragedies.

He expressed hope that the financial assistance would help ease some of the hardships faced by the affected families.

He further noted that the district administration and BRTA are working together to prevent road accidents by increasing public awareness, enforcing traffic laws more strictly, and ensuring safer roads.

Representatives of BRTA Narayanganj said that the funds were allocated under a government assistance programme for road accident victims. Priority was given to the families of deceased victims and those who sustained serious injuries.

The event was attended by senior officials of the district administration, BRTA representatives, and members of the beneficiary families.

According to the district administration, the list of road accident victims is being reviewed and verified, and more eligible families will be brought under the assistance programme in phases.Teachers’ Retirement Benefits to Be Cleared
