Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul has said that patients will be served through a piloting scheme, under which our personnel will go door to door. After providing primary care, they will refer a patient to a hospital only if they determine it is necessary. We have a plan to simplify healthcare access for everyone across the country in this manner.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a financial grant distribution event for poor and destitute people from the Health and Family Welfare Minister’s personal fund, held Saturday afternoon at the Monohardi Upazila Parishad auditorium in Narsingdi.
The Health Minister said, “The previous government engaged in corruption and siphoned the country’s money abroad. We are running an exceptional government. We want to serve all people regardless of party affiliation. No one now has to pay bribes to receive government services.
Our Prime Minister has given strict instructions that everyone must work for the people and remain above corruption. Ad-Din Hospital walked around with crores of taka, but I have cancelled their licence. Meanwhile, Jamaat leaders are today speaking in favour of Ad-Din.”
He further said, “With China’s cooperation, we are going to establish two specialised hospitals with 3,000 beds each, where special arrangements will be made for the medical care of children and women.”
