Suchorita once captivated the minds of young audiences in this country by
acting as a heroine in many movies.
After a while, she has won the hearts of the movie-loving audience of this country by playing the role of a mother in a movie after another.
However, even though she is no longer seen in movies like before, the audience definitely misses her. Her fans and viewers still eagerly await her new movies.
Meanwhile, Suchorita is not currently acting in any new films. However, the actress has a desire to act if she gets an offer to work in a movie with a good story. Noted actress Suchorita currently spends her time at her home in the diplomatic zone of Baridhara in the capital.
During her long acting career, she has received the infinite love of millions of viewers in this country. She is now acting with that love.
Suchorita first played a child role in Mustafiz’s movie ‘Qulee’. Her name was Baby Helen then. After acting in movie ‘Qulee’, she also acted in child role in other movies including ‘Nimai Sanyasi,’ ‘Obanchito’, ‘Rong Berong’, ‘Taka Ana Pai’, ‘Koto Je Minoti’, ‘Rajmukut’, and ‘Bablu’. As a heroine, she acted in Azizur Rahman’s directorial ‘Shikriti’ (1972) and Dilip Biswas’s ‘Samadhi’ and Ashok Ghosh’s film ‘Mastan’. However, Suchorita’s performance in late Abdul Latif Bachchu’s film ‘Jadur Bashi’ in 1977 brought her to the peak of popularity. Since then, she has acted in over 100 films.
She won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Hangor Nodi Grenade’ (1997) and Best Supporting Actress for ‘Megh Konna’ (2018).
Among the films in which Suchorita has acted, six songs titled ‘Jibone Ekjon Priyojon Sobari Proyojon’ from movie ‘Bojro Mushti’ (1989), song ‘Aamar Gorur Garite’ from movie ‘Akhi Milon’, and song titled ‘Akash Bina Chand’ from movie ‘Jadur Bashi’, song titled ‘Tumito Ekhon Amar e Kotha Bhabchho’ from movie ‘Jibon Nowka’ and song titled ‘Amar Premer Tori Boiya Chole’ from movie ‘Moheshkhalir Bakey’, and song titled ‘O Bondhure Prano Bondhu Re’ from movie ‘Megh Bijlee Badal’ (1983) are very popular to her.
Regarding her acting career, Suchorita told this correspondent, “I have been acting in movies since I was a child. Even as an adult, I have acted in many movies as a heroine. I have been showered with the love of the audience time and again.
Again, when I played the role of a mother in a movie, the audience was moved by my characters. This love and respect from the audience – this is a great achievement in life.
Now, I think that as long as an artiste is healthy, conscious, and well, she can continue acting. Artistes have no retirement. So as long as I continue to act, I hope they don’t give me the Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Film Awards.”
