2 workers die in electrocution at Bandarban hospital

Two construction workers died after being electrocuted while working on a service building at Bandarban Sadar Hospital. The incident occurred on Thursday (June 11) around 11:00 a.m. at the hospital.

The deceased workers were identified as Md. Sakib (20) and Kamrul Hasan (35). They were residents of Char Fasson upazila in Bhola district.

According to eyewitnesses and Fire Service sources, Sakib and Kamrul Hasan were working on the hospital’s service building when an iron angle they were handling came into contact with an electric main line near the building. They were immediately electrocuted and died on the spot.

After being informed, members of the Bandarban Fire Service and police arrived at the scene, brought the situation under control, and began necessary procedures.

Assistant Director of Bandarban Fire Service Md. Abdul Mannan Ansari said that two workers died due to electrocution while working on the hospital’s service building. He added that they reached the spot after receiving the news and is inspecting the matter.
