Asian Games Fun Run rally held

The 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 20th Asian Games Fun Run rally was held in the city on Wednesday.
Vice-president of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Major Imroz Ahmed (retd.) formally inaugurated the Fun Run rally, that commenced from the Bangladesh Shishu Academy and concluded at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Indoor Stadium, said a BOA press release.
The colorful rally was attended by athletes and officials from 23 federations, boards and associations that are expected to participate in the upcoming Asian Games.
Members of the BOA executive committee, officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council, two representatives of the Asian Games Organizing Committee, and two representatives from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) also took part in the rally.
Following the rally, certificates were distributed among the participants.
During the second phase of the programme, demonstration events in Kabaddi, Karate, Judo, Taekwondo and Wushu were held at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Indoor Stadium.
In the third phase, traditional Bangladeshi games, including Dariabandha and Lathi Khela (stick-fighting), were showcased as part of the cultural and sporting activities.
At the closing ceremony, two of Bangladesh’s elite athletes–archer Md. Sagar Islam and shooter Nilufa Yasmin–shared their experiences in sports and spoke about their aspirations and dreams for the upcoming Asian Games.
The 20th Asian Games will be held from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
