Sabina, Masura to leave for Bhutan today

Last year, 15 Bangladeshi footballers participated in Bhutanese domestic Women’s Football League.

A group of Bangladeshi female footballers can be seen in Bhutanese domestic league in the 2026 season as well.

In the meantime, Bhutanese domestic Women’s Football League has started. Experienced defender Masura Parvin, who played for Transport United last season, has now joined Paro FC.

The club where Sabina Khatun also played in the last season. Although the Bhutanese league has started, Sabina Khatun and Masura Parvin could not go because the country’s domestic Futsal League was going on.

The Futsal League is closed for Eid al-Adha. The league is probably not starting until the FIFA World Cup is over.

That is why Sabina and Masura are going to Thimphu today to join the Bhutanese club.

Senior footballer Masura Parvin said, “Sabina and I are going to Bhutan tomorrow. Our Futsal League is closed.

The date when it will start has not been announced. I decided to go to Bhutan and play instead of sitting around.”

Last season, Sabina Khatun, Matsushima Sumaya, Monika Chakma and Ritu Porna Chakma played for Paro FC Last season, 15 Bangladeshi female footballers played for four clubs in Bhutan.

Bangladesh Women’s Football team’s Captain Afeida Khandaker Pranti, Sapna Rani, Tohura Khatun, Shamsunnahar Junior, Shaheda Akhter Ripa were registered for the champions Royal Thimphu College.

Afeida Khandaker and Sapna Rani played for the club in the AFC Women’s Champions League.

Sanjida Akhter, Maria Manda, Shamsunnahar Senior played for Thimphu City.
