Dhaka police detain 28 during raid
Law enforcement agencies, including police, have arrested 28 suspected criminals during a special operation carried out in the capital’s Jatrabari area.
Police from Jatrabari Police Station conducted the drive on Wednesday across several crime-prone locations in the area, according to a press release issued on Thursday.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed that a total of 28 individuals were detained during the operation and subsequently produced before a court.
Those arrested include Rishat Laskar (27), Md Alamin Sharif (42), Md Rinku, Md Russell, Md Nayan Mia (29), Md Faisal Ahmed (27), Md Aman Ullah (42), Md Sohag (28), Md Riaz (27), Khairul (26), Md Shahin Hossain (20), Md Faisal Hossain (22), Md Rabbi (30), Md Jahangir alias Bulu (35), Md Farooq (19), Md Rahul (19), Md Shaheen (19), Md Roman (20), Md Ratul (19), and Md Shanto (19).
Police said the arrestees were produced before the court following the operation.
Authorities added that the drive was conducted in different crime-prone areas of Jatrabari as part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the capital.
