Tigresses to tour NZ for white-ball series in December

The Bangladesh women’s cricket team will tour New Zealand in December for a six-match white-ball series comprising three T20 Internationals and three ODIs, the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced on Wednesday.

The series will be the only home international assignment for the New Zealand women’s team, known as the White Ferns, during the upcoming season.

According to the schedule released by NZC, the tour will begin with the first T20I in Nelson on December 10, followed by the second match at the same venue on December 12. The third and final T20I will be played in Wellington on December 15.

The ODI series will start in Wellington on December 18 before moving to Mount Maunganui for the remaining two matches on December 21 and 23.

The White Ferns were initially scheduled to tour Australia in early 2027. However, the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, set to be held in Sri Lanka, has been rescheduled for February 2027, resulting in changes to New Zealand’s international calendar.

Consequently, the Bangladesh series will serve as New Zealand’s sole home series of the season.
Bangladesh last toured New Zealand in 2022, where the visitors suffered a 3-0 defeat in the T20I series and lost the ODI series 1-0 after the last two ODIs were washed out due to inclement weather.

The upcoming tour will provide Bangladesh with another opportunity to test themselves in New Zealand conditions as both teams continue preparations for future international competitions.
