Free dustbins distributed in Kishoreganj

District Administration of Kishoreganj, has started a free dustbin distribution program to make a clean, healthy and citizen-friendly town On Monday afternoon, Deputy Commissioner (DC Sohana Nasrin officially inaugurated the program in various important areas including Kanchari Bazar, Kalibari More, Gaurangabazar, and Puranthana in the town.

Among others, kishoreganj Municipalty Administrator (Deputy Secretary, Local Government) Zebun Nahar Shammi, Sadar UNO Kamrul Hasan Maruf, Municipal Executive Officer Syed Shafiqur Rahman, Executive Engineer Rafiqul Islam and dignified officials were also present.

Zebun Naher Shammi, Deputy Secretary of local Government, said that in addition to the 9 wards of Kishoreganj Municipality , these dustbins will be installed in educational institutions, government and private offices, markets, important roads and public gathering places. So that the tendency of littering will be reduced and it will be easier to maintain urban cleanliness. Along with the distribution of dustbins, cleanliness drives will be conducted in different areas.

Activities such as cleaning drains and sewers, removing stagnant water, removing garbage and destroying mosquito breeding grounds will also continue. It was also informed at the time that a comprehensive program has been taken to prevent mosquito-borne diseases including dengue in view of the upcoming monsoon season. If a clean environment is ensured, the risk to public health will be significantly reduced.

Sadar UNO Kamrul Hasan Maruf said, ‘Building a clean and beautiful city is not only the responsibility of the administration, but also of every citizen. Building a clean city is not possible without the conscious participation of citizens.
