CRBC meets NCC admin on N’ganj’s development projects
A delegation from the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), a Chinese state-owned company, paid a courtesy call on Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Administrator Advocate Md. Sakhawat Hossain Khan to discuss infrastructure development in Narayanganj.
The meeting was held on Monday at the administrator’s office at Narayanganj City Corporation.
According to NCC sources, the discussions focused on several major urban development initiatives, including the proposed Nabiganj Bridge over the Shitalakkhya River, a waste-to-energy project, and the establishment of a water treatment plant.
Following the meeting, the delegation visited the proposed site of the Nabiganj Bridge near Nabiganj Ferry Ghat. They inspected the designated location and reviewed its potential for project implementation.
After the visit, CRBC representatives expressed optimism about implementing key civic infrastructure projects, including the Nabiganj Bridge.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the development of a cleaner, more sustainable, and citizen-friendly Narayanganj through modern waste management and improved water treatment systems.
It is learned that former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia laid the foundation stone of the much-anticipated bridge project at the Nabiganj Ferry Ghat area on October 8, 2006.
Once implemented, the project is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Narayanganj city and the Bandar area.
It is also expected to boost industrial, commercial, and economic activities in the region.
Among those present at the meeting were Narayanganj-5 constituency leader Abul Kalam, Member Secretary of Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu, and Joint Convener Abul Kawser Asha.
Also present were Acting Chief Executive Officer of the City Corporation Md. Noor Kutubul Alam, Supervising Engineer (Current Charge) Md. Azgar Hossain, Executive Engineer (Civil) Mohammad Ismail Chowdhury, and Urban Planner Md. Moinul Islam.
