National Legal Aid Services Organization has settled more than 2.05 lakh disputes through its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service since 2009, according to an official report published recently.

The report, prepared on the activities of legal aid services up to April 2026, said a total of 2,32,174 cases were filed under ADR mechanisms during the period, of which 2,05,382 cases were successfully resolved.

According to the report, around 4,00,567 people benefited from the disputes settled through ADR services.

The organisation also said government-funded legal assistance was provided to 14,61,630 people during the same period, covering services in the High Court and Appellate Divisions of the Supreme Court, lower courts, labour courts and prisons across the country.

The legal support is being provided under the Legal Aid Act to assist financially insolvent and disadvantaged litigants.

The National Legal Aid Services Organization, operating under the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, has been implementing the programme since 2009.
