Speakers stress road safety in Debiganj

Speakers at a road accident prevention meeting in Debiganj on Thursday stressed the importance of mass awareness and responsible driving to ensure safe roads after three people were killed in separate accidents this week.

They said non-compliance with traffic rules by truck, Mahindra and battery-run auto-van drivers has become a major concern in the upazila at a mass awareness meeting on road accident prevention held at the Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh district on Thursday, organised by the upazila administration.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sabus Kumar Bosak presided over the meeting.

Among others, the meeting was addressed by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abdulla Bin Zia, Upazila Engineer Sakil Ahmed, teacher Abdus Salam, Brick Field Association President Md Anower Hossain, Transport Sector Secretary and others.

Government officials, police personnel, traffic police, Roads and Highways Department officials, truck and Mahindra drivers, UP chairmen and political leaders took part in the meeting.
