BADC stresses financial transparency
A meeting was held at the Agriculture Building conference room to enhance transparency and strengthen financial discipline in the existing financial management system of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) on Sunday.
The meeting, held on 17 May, was attended by the organisation’s wing chiefs and department heads.
Speaking at the meeting, BADC Chairman Azizul Islam said that all officials and employees of the corporation must work with greater responsibility to ensure the development of agriculture and farmers.
He said BADC has been working to ensure the more effective supply of essential agricultural inputs to farmers.
To improve the quality and acceptance of seeds at the farmers’ level, an office order containing directives on seed production, processing, preservation and distribution at various stages has already been issued, which must be followed.
The chairman also instructed officials to ensure the timely supply of fertiliser, its sale to farmers at government-fixed prices, and the prevention of illegal hoarding and smuggling.
He stressed the importance of submitting arrival reports, maintaining registers and monitoring sales activities in line with the fertiliser distribution policy.
At the same time, he emphasised the need to ensure transparency and accountability by carrying out activities in compliance with the Public Procurement Rules (PPR) 2025 and other financial discipline regulations.
