Hossain murder case hearing on Hasina deferred to Sept 24
A court on Tuesday deferred until September 24 the hearing on framing charges against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 33 others in a case over the alleged murder of truck driver Md Hossain during the July Mass Uprising.
The hearing was scheduled for yesterday, but accused Zunaid Ahmed Palak could not be produced before the court as the prison authorities failed to bring him to the hearing.
Following a time petition from the prosecution, Judge Robiul Alam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 set September 24 as the new date for the charge-framing hearing.
According to the case documents, Md Hossain was shot in the Chand Udyan area of Mohammadpur on July 19, 2024, while returning home after leaving his truck in Gabtoli.
He later succumbed to his injuries.
Hossain’s mother, Rina Begum, filed the case with Mohammadpur Police Station on August 31, 2024
