Nahid Rana named ICC Player of the Month for April
It’s time for Nahid Rana. This fast bowler of Bangladesh has been selected as the International Cricket Council (ICC) Player of the Month for April.
Last April, he took 8 wickets in three One Day International (ODI) matches against New Zealand at home.
That performance made him the Player of the Month for April.
Nahid Rana performed before and after this series.
He also took 8 wickets in the three-match ODI series against Pakistan last March.
Then, in the second innings of the last Test against Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur, he bowled his career-best. He took 5 wickets for 40 runs.
Nahid Rana won the Player of the Month of ICC for the first time.
Earlier, all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the Player of the Month for April last year.
Before him, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan (2 times) got recognition among Bangladeshi players.
“It’s a great feeling to be named ICC Player of the Month after performing well against a world-class team like New Zealand.
It made the series even more special to be able to perform on home soil and I will always remember this series”, said Nahid Rana, a promising speedster who played for the Bangladesh National Cricket team.
“I’m grateful to my team-mates for their constant support and belief in me throughout.
“I hope to keep contributing to more victories and memorable moments for my team.”
