Bangladesh Football League: Kings to become champions if they beat Abahani
All the attractions of the Bangladesh Football League may end in the 17th round.
The crucial match of the second phase of the Bangladesh Football League will be held today at Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla.
Dhaka Abahani Limited will face Bashundhara Kings at 3:45pm.
Captain of Bashundhara Kings Topu Barman will lead his side, while Captain of Dhaka Abahani Limited Asaduzzaman Bablu will lead his team.
The reigning champions Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited have already been eliminated from the title race.
Fortis FC were the main rival of Bashundhara Kings for a long time.
However, Dhaka Abahani Limited returned to the title race in a great way in the end.
With two matches remaining, the difference between Kings and Abahani is only one point.
Kings have 35 points in 16 matches, while Abahani have 34.
If the Kings win, they will secure the title with 38 points and one match left.
Then the result against Youngmen in the last match will not have any impact.
On the other hand, if Abahani win, they will be two points ahead of Bashundhara Kings and if they defeat Arambagh Krira Sangha in the last match, Marful Haque’s team will regain the title.
If the match will end in a draw, the difference in points between the two teams will remain one.
Then, if Kings do not lose in the last round, there will be no benefit even if Abahani win.
The two teams are close in terms of strength.
No one left anyone out in the first round of the two teams. The intensely exciting match was drawn 2-2.
