Zico on BD’s tour of San Marino
Bangladesh will play a FIFA friendly match in San Marino on June 5. The Bangladesh Football Federation has started the visa process for players, coaching staff and officials for that match. Many footballers have applied for visas on Wednesday.
Among them is goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico.
A few days ago, the most trusted name in the Bangladesh football team was goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico. He also became the best goalkeeper of the tournament at the Bengaluru SAFF in 2023. After that, the footballer became irregular in the national team due to indiscipline and Head Coach Javier Cabrera turning his back on him.
Zico was playing well for Bashundhara Kings this season. Even then, Cabrera did not catch their attention. Zico’s good times did not come easily after Cabrera’s departure. Cabrera’s assistant Hassan Al Mamun initially didn’t include Zico in the list.
Along with San Marino, another team will play in the four-nation tournament in the Maldives. BFF later decided to at least get a visa for Zico to join the San Marino team.
Tapu Barman, Rakib, Bishwanath Ghosh, Sohel Rana Senior and Junior, Fahim, Mitul Marma, Sheikh Morsalin, Rahmat and many others gave their fingerprints for visas on Wednesday.
Manager Amer Khan and Nuruzzaman Nayon, the Goalkeeper Coach of Bashundhara Kings, were also in the process of applying for visas.
Dhaka Abahani Coach Maruful Haque will be the Head Coach for the four-nation tournament in Maldives. Maruful Haque, Technical Director Saiful Bari Titu, and Assistant Coach Hasan Al Mamun have basically decided on two teams. The federation has not yet released the list of which players are in which team.
