New DUMCJAA Committee elected

A new executive committee of the Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association (DUMCJAA) for the 2026-2028 term has been elected, with Elias Khan chosen as president, Shahnaz Sharmeen Rinvy as general secretary and MD Mashud Bin Abdur Razzak as organising secretary.

The biennial election and annual general meeting of the association took place on Friday at the Teacher-Student Centre. Chief Election Commissioner Mahfuzur Rahman announced the results shortly after midnight following the completion of vote counting.

Election commissioners Zahid Newaz Khan, Daulat Akter Mala, Abu Saleh Akon and Angur Nahar Monti were also present during the announcement.

According to the results, Elias Khan secured 275 votes, defeating his nearest rival Dr M Kamal Uddin Jasim, who received 126 votes in the presidential contest.

Earlier in the day, the alumni association organised a “Jogajog Utshob” (Communication Festival), where Sheikh Robiul Alam, adviser for road transport, bridges, railways and shipping affairs, attended as the chief guest.
