AG Office tightens prosecutors’ court rules

The Attorney General’s Office has directed Deputy Attorneys General (DAGs) and Assistant Attorneys General (AAGs) to remain strictly within their designated courts during official court hours.

In a notice, the Attorney General’s Office emphasized that such practices undermine court discipline and instructed all DAGs and AAGs to refrain from attending any court other than the one assigned to them during working hours.

The instruction comes amid reports that some prosecutors were leaving their assigned courts during ongoing proceedings and appearing in other courts, allegedly to influence case proceedings.
