Smart Tech Boost for Bangladesh’s Knitwear Industry

In a move set to elevate Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector, China-based Kaiqi International has introduced advanced knitting technologies through a high-profile exhibition in Dhaka. The event, titled “International Knitting Machineries Exhibition”, showcased cutting-edge machines from Chuangfu Knitting Machinery, aiming to enhance product quality and diversify the country’s apparel offerings.

Held at a five-star hotel in the capital on Saturday, the programme brought together industry leaders, global fashion stakeholders, and technology experts. Speaking at the inauguration, Kaiqi International’s Managing Director, Mr. Gao, emphasized that Bangladesh must adopt top-tier technologies to achieve a leading position in the global apparel market. He noted that the newly introduced machines are designed to reduce production costs while significantly improving efficiency.

Chuangfu Group, globally recognized for its expertise in sweater knitting technology, demonstrated its high-performance machines capable of operating at speeds of up to 1.5 meters per second. Equipped with intelligent production management systems, full-motor drive mechanisms, and advanced electronic yarn-feeding technology, these machines ensure faster output, minimal defects, and consistent product quality.

The exhibition went beyond a simple product display, serving as a strategic platform to support the future growth of Bangladesh’s knitwear sector. For local manufacturers, Kaiqi International is offering comprehensive support services, including technical assistance, quick spare parts supply, on-site installation, and workforce training.

President of BKMEA, Md. Hatem, highlighted that adopting such advanced technologies will further strengthen Bangladesh’s competitive position in the global market.

With the theme “Knitting Your Vision,” the exhibition featured a range of modern knitting innovations such as jacquard, cable knit, pointelle, intarsia, ribbed designs, and 3D knitting techniques. The event attracted a diverse audience, including Bangladeshi entrepreneurs and international fashion industry professionals, reflecting growing global interest in Bangladesh’s evolving apparel sector.

The initiative marks a significant step toward modernizing the country’s knitwear industry and aligning it with global technological standards.
