Measles outbreak eases in Chapainawabganj

The measles outbreak in Chapainawabganj district is showing signs of gradual improvement, with health officials reporting a steady decline in new infections and rising recovery rates among children.

Authorities at the 250-bed Chapainawabganj District Hospital reported that the number of infected children is beginning to decline, with many patients recovering and returning home. In the last 24 hours alone, 15 children have been discharged after successful treatment, while 14 new cases were admitted.

Previously, 63 children were undergoing treatment at the hospital’s measles isolation unit. That number has now dropped to 51, indicating a slow but steady improvement in the situation.

Hospital data shows that since January, a total of 1,187 measles patients have received treatment at the facility. Tragically, seven deaths have been recorded during this period.
