Tigers-Kiwis 2nd T20I today

The highly motivated Bangladesh Cricket team will take on New Zealand Cricket team today in the second Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.

The match will begin at 2:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). The game will be aired live by private satellite sports channel T Sports.

Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Litton Das will lead his team, while Captain of New Zealand Cricket team Tom Latham got injury and he was ruled out from the first T20I. In absence of Tom Latham, Nick Kelly will lead the Kiwis.

If Bangladesh win today’s T20I match, Bangladesh will win three-match T20I series 2-0 remaining with one T20I.

The third T20I between the hosts and tourists will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on May 2.

Earlier, the Tigers made history after defeating the Kiwis by six wickets in the 1st T20I at the same venue on April 27. Bangladesh chased a mammoth total of 183-run to win in that T20I.

The hosts created history as they chased such a big total at their home ground. Tawhid Hridoy played the vital role to earn the historical victory.

He believes that the decision to bat aggressively at a moment of pressure turned the match around.

The Bangladesh Cricket team came under pressure due to the slow pace in the beginning.

The team’s collection was 77 runs for 3 wickets in the 11th over, when more than 11 runs per over were needed to win.

In that situation, Parvez Hossain Emon joined Hridoy, and from there the match started to turn around.

After the match, Hridoy said, “In that situation, the team needed runs. So my plan was just to attack. Otherwise, the match could have been difficult.”

He also said, “T20I is a game where if one or two overs go wrong, the match goes to the opponent.

A phase of two overs-good batting or bowling, two-three wickets-can change the pace of the match.”

Hridoy also said that Emon’s aggressive batting in the middle order has made his job easier, “The middle order is a place where you have to attack and build an innings. Emon’s aggressive batting has made my job easier.”
