New land service initiative launches in Rajshahi

A new service initiative has been launched across all land offices in Rajshahi Division to reduce public suffering and curb harassment in accessing land-related services.

The initiative is designed to ensure faster and easier access to services as well as prompt resolution of complaints.

Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam inaugurates the service at the Barokuthi Boalia Land Office in Rajshahi city on Thursday.

Speaking at the inauguration, he said that many people still face harassment while seeking land services.

“Our main objective is to eliminate this harassment so that people can receive services quickly and without difficulty,” he said.

He added that under the new system, service seekers will be able to submit complaints easily at any land office.

All complaints will be given due importance and necessary action will be taken promptly after proper investigation.

The Deputy Commissioner also expressed hope that the initiative would help ensure a harassment-free environment in land service delivery.

He urged wider publicity of the service so that citizens are aware of it. “If people know about this service, they can resolve land-related problems easily and will not face obstacles in getting services,” he said.

Officials said the initiative has been taken under a special directive of the Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner and will be implemented gradually in all land offices across the division.

Among others, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Hassan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohinul Hasan, Land Acquisition Officer Abhijit Sarkar, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Boalia Arif Hossain, and Kanungo Nishith Kumar were present at the event.
