Sourav, Dorielton’s hat-tricks put Mohammedan and Kings in semis
There were two important matches in Group ‘B’ in the Federation Cup on Tuesday. Mohammedan and Bashundhara Kings won their respective matches and secured their place in the last four of the Federation Cup. Mohammedan’s Sourav and Kings’ Brazilian footballer Dorielton scored a hat-trick each.
Before the last round of Group ‘B’, Bangladesh Police Football Club were at the top with 6 points. Bashundhara Kings, Mohammedan and Fortis FC had 5 points.
Everyone was in the running to advance to the next round. In the end, Bashundhara Kings were top of the points table on goal difference with 8 points and Mohammedan became the runner-up.
Bashundhara Kings’ foreign footballers did not play in the league match due to non-payment of wages. Brazilian Dorielton single-handedly led Kings to victory in the Federation Cup yesterday.
With his four goals, Bashundhara Kings won an easy 4-1 victory over Bangladesh Police FC.
Kings had a chance to take the lead at Bashundhara Kings Arena on Tuesday.

Enrique was awarded a penalty in the 35th minute when Yusuf got the ball in the box, but he could not score. Dorielton scored from the penalty spot when Ismail fouled Faisal Ahmed Fahim, who was entering the box, in added time in the first half.
In the 52nd minute, Dorielton took a pass from Rakib Hossain and crossed the left side into the box. Then, the forward overcame two more defenders and scored with a low right-footed shot.
After 30 minutes, the Brazilian forward scored a hat-trick by jumping on Rakib’s cross. He scored another goal towards the end.
Despite playing aggressive football from the start of the match against Arambagh Krira Sangha at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh, Mohammedan had to wait until the 39th minute to score a goal. Mohammad Jewel ran to take control of the ball and scored with a right-footed angular shot.
Mohammedan doubled the lead in the 75th minute after the break. Sourav doubled the margin. Shortly after, Sourav scored again with a low, powerful shot from inside the box.
In the final moments of the match, Sourav completed his hat-trick with a left-footed angular shot.
