Srikanta Acharya returns to Dhaka with family

Indian singer Srikanta Acharya is currently in Bangladesh with his family, spending time in Dhaka during the Pahela Boishakh festivities while revisiting his ancestral roots.

Srikanta is a prominent figure in contemporary Bengali music from West Bengal, has longstanding familial ties to Bangladesh. His ancestors hailed from Mymensingh, a connection he has repeatedly said deepens his emotional bond with the country.

The singer has been visiting Bangladesh since 2000 and has travelled widely across the country over the past 26 years. While he has been to Dhaka many times, this marks his first visit to the historic Dhakeshwari Temple.
