BD nationals killed in Israeli airstrike

A Bangladeshi national has been killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut, according to the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut.

The deceased, Dipali, was the daughter of Sheikh Mofazzal and Rozina Khatun from Char Shalepur village in Faridpur’s Charbhadrasan upazila.

She had been working in Lebanon and was staying with her employer’s family in the Hamra area when the strike occurred on April 8.

In a Facebook post on April 10, the embassy expressed deep sorrow over her death and extended condolences to her family.

According to preliminary information, Dipali’s employer (kafil) and several members of the employer’s family were also killed in the same attack, based on initial reports from a neighbour.

Local police said her body has been kept at the morgue of Rafik Hariri Hospital. The embassy is in contact with relevant authorities to confirm further details and arrange repatriation.
