A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident on the Dhaka–Khulna Highway in Bagerhat’s Fakirhat upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Md. Yasin Sheikh (55), son of Abdul Bari Sheikh of Satshoya village under the upazila.

According to police and local sources, the accident occurred around 10:00am in the Pagla–Shyamngar area when Yasin was entering a roadside filling station to refuel.

At that time, a speeding Dhaka-bound passenger bus hit his motorcycle from behind, leaving him critically injured.

Police have taken steps to seize the bus involved, which fled the scene.
