Reports on restricting home use of lights, fans ‘fake’: BNP

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has dismissed as “fake and motivated” reports circulating on social media claiming that its Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi instructed people not to use lights and fans unnecessarily after evening.

In a press release issued on Saturday night, the party said Rizvi had made no such statement and described the circulated information as “completely fabricated and baseless.” reports media.

The statement, signed by BNP Deputy Office Secretary Md Munir, said a “malicious group” is spreading the false claim across various online platforms, including Facebook and YouTube.
