Banks, NBFIs to remain open till 5pm from today

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has set new timings for office and transaction hours for all scheduled banks, NBFIs effective from today, to conserve fuel and electricity across the country.

Bank offices will remain open from 10:00am to 5:00pm, while transactions will be conducted from 10:00am to 3:00pm from Sunday to Thursday, according to a circular by BB.

However, bank branches, sub-branches, and booths located in sea, land, and airport port areas will continue to operate 24/7 as per existing directives.

The new timings follow after the government on Thursday announced a series of austerity measures.
