All leaves of doctors, health workers canceled

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has canceled all leave for doctors and health workers for the emergency period due to the outbreak of measles-related pneumonia among children across the country.

The decision was announced in an office order issued by the DGHS yesterday.
The office order said that this decision has been taken to facilitate uninterrupted medical services and provision of measles vaccines during emergencies.

Under this decision, the leave (earned leave and casual leave) of all levels of doctors, officials, employees and health workers working in the Directorate General of Health Services and all health institutions under the Directorate General of Health Services has been canceled.

Recently, there has been a massive outbreak of measles among children in various parts of the country. The disease has already spread to 56 districts of the country. More than 50 children have died from measles.
