SCC admin orders 100pc transparency in dev work

Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) Administrator Abdul Quiyum Chowdhury has ordered to ensure 100 per cent transparency in development work.

He gave these instructions while inspecting the ongoing drain development work in the Kazirbazar area of the city on Thursday (April 2, 2026) afternoon.

During the inspection, the SCC administrator said, “The development activities of the City Corporation are carried out with the money paid by the people.

Therefore, proper use of this money must be ensured. Public money cannot be wasted in any way. The work must be completed within the stipulated time while maintaining quality standards.”

He also said that the City Corporation is working with the goal of building a clean and modern city. In order to implement this goal, the sincerity of the concerned officials and employees as well as the active cooperation of the city residents are also essential.

He urged the city residents to dispose of garbage at specific places instead of throwing it everywhere to keep the city clean.

Acting Chief Engineer of the City Corporation, Md. Ali Akbar, Executive Engineer (Civil) Roji Uddin Khan, Public Relations Officer (P.O.) Nehar Ranjan Purkayastha, Deputy Assistant Engineer Bijit Chandra Dey, Md. Mahbubur Rahman along with the contractors of the related work and local residents also attend here.
