Dr. Majid new acting DG of RDA
Dr. Md. Abdul Majid Pramani has been appointed as the Acting Director General of the Rural Development Academy, Bogura.
He was given this responsibility through a government order signed by the Senior Assistant Secretary of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Majid began his career as an Assistant Director at the Rural Development Academy in 2004 and was subsequently promoted to the position of Director.
The government has entrusted him with this responsibility in recognition of his long-standing outstanding contributions and skilled leadership in rural development, research, and innovation.
Over his 21 years of experience, Dr. Majid has made significant contributions at both national and international levels in the fields of poverty alleviation, agricultural development, climate resilience, disaster management, women’s empowerment, and food security.
Under his leadership, various technologies have been developed and expanded in char areas, playing an important role in improving the quality of life of char communities. He also successfully served as the Project Director of the “Making Markets Work for the Chars (M4C)” project.
The newly appointed Acting Director General, Dr. Majid, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Agricultural Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University and his PhD from Northwest A&F University, China. As a researcher, he has published more than fifty research papers in various journals and reports.
He recently received the National “Public Administration Award,” recognizing his professional excellence and contributions.
