Colleagues demand Rs 1cr penalty for Rahul’s death, ‘blacklist’ production co
Actor Rahul Banerjee met with a terrible accident while shooting for ‘Bhole Baba Par Karega’ in Talsari.
Although the actor’s death has left many questions unanswered; Kolkata media reported that several inconsistencies have been found in the footage obtained by the police with the statements of the unit members.
In this situation, the All Indian Cine Workers’ Association raised questions about the safety of the stars during the shooting.
Allegedly, Rahul Banerjee lost his life while shooting due to negligence. In that context, the concerned organisation has demanded that the production company be blacklisted.
The organisation demands that an FIR be filed against the production company of the serial ‘Bhole Baba Par Karega’ and the related channel on charges of ‘murder’ and that the producers, production companies and channels associated with the serial be blacklisted.
The All Indian Cine Workers’ Association has also demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore for Rahul’s family.
They demanded that this compensation be collected from the production company and the channel.
On Monday, the official ex-handle of the All Indian Cine Workers’ Association, along with demanding strict legal action against the guilty, mentioned several issues.
The organisation claimed, “This is not a mere accident, but a structural failure. The actor died due to the negligence of the production company.
Our organisation has warned several times that production companies and channel authorities often compromise on the security of artistes to reduce costs. As a result, the lives of workers and artistes are at extreme risk.
Almost every year, accidents occur in different parts of India, where technicians, general workers and artists lose their lives due to unsafe working conditions.
Unfortunately, such incidents are often covered up and examples of punishment for the guilty are also very rare.”
In that context, the All Indian Cine Workers’ Association is demanding strict punishment for those responsible for Rahul Banerjee’s death.
Not only that, the All Indian Cine Workers’ Association has also demanded a full investigation into the incident from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
