855 Rangpur sanitation workers receive PM’s Eid gift

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman distributed Tk 5,000 in cash to each sanitation worker of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) as an Eid gift. A total of 855 sanitation workers received Tk 5,000 each, amounting to Tk 42.75 lakh.

The Eid gifts were distributed at RCC Chattar on Tuesday (March 17) afternoon. RCC Administrator Mahfuz Un Nabi Chowdhury Don was present as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, RCC Administrator Don said that the contribution of sanitation workers is crucial in keeping the city clean and livable.

“Rangpur remains clean and tidy every day due to their relentless work. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken this initiative to show respect and gratitude to them on Eid. We are happy to add a new dimension to their happiness through this gesture,” he said.

He further stated, “Sanitation workers are an essential part of city life. RCC is always committed to ensuring their welfare and dignity.

Just as Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stands by them, I, as the administrator of RCC, will also stand by them as long as I am in office.” He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the initiative.

Meanwhile, the sanitation workers expressed their happiness at receiving Tk 5,000 each and conveyed their best wishes to the Prime Minister.

The program was also attended by DAB Central Committee Vice President and Rangpur Metropolitan City President Dr. Nikhilendra Shankar Guha Roy, RCC Executive Officer (A.O.) Hasan, Chief Property Officer Rubel Rana, Executive Magistrate Shahriar Rahman, Chief Revenue Officer Raj Kumar Biswas, and other officers and employees of the City Corporation.
