Rashmika’s family objected to acting with Vijay

Popular South Indian film couple Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna has recently tied the knot.

After a long eight-year relationship, they got married on February 26 in Udaipur.

However, the path to this marriage was not easy for Rashmika.

Especially when it came to acting in her second film with Vijay, the own family of Rashmika was an obstacle.

In a recent interview, Rashmika shared about this difficult time in her career and personal life.

She said that after the film ‘Geet Govindam’ became a huge commercial success in 2018, director Bharat Kamma offered her film ‘Dear Comrade’.

Rashmika was interested in acting because she liked the script, but her family opposed it.

Her family wanted her to take a break from acting after the success of her first film, believing that the film industry was not safe for girls.

She was even pressured not to share the screen with Vijay for a second time.

Rashmika further said that she had to fight with her family to play the role of ‘Lily’.

She explained to her family that it was not a big deal who the co-star was, but that she loved acting and wanted to be a successful actress.

A kissing scene between Vijay and Rashmika in the movie ‘Dear Comrade’ was widely discussed and criticized on social media at the time. – Agencies
