DMP files 2,229 cases for traffic law violations
Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 2,229 cases against traffic law violation during drives conducted across various areas of Dhaka on Thursday and Friday.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter in a press release on Saturday, reports media.
According to the press release, Traffic-Ramna Division filed 168 cases, which included 18 buses, 4 covered vans, 22 CNGs, and 49 motorcycles.
Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 145 cases, involving 6 buses, 22 trucks, 1 covered van, 11 CNGs, and 77 motorcycles.
Traffic-Motijheel Division filed 225 cases, which included 29 buses, 2 trucks, 18 covered vans, 42 CNGs, and 106 motorcycles.
Traffic-Wari Division filed 175 cases, including 13 buses, 37 trucks, 23 covered vans, 18 CNGs, and 49 motorcycles. Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 106 cases, involving 5 buses, 6 trucks, 4 covered vans, 10 CNGs, and 51 motorcycles
The total number of cases in Traffic-Mirpur Division 256, in Traffic-Uttara Division 411, and in Traffic-Gulshan Division 759.
During the operations, a total of 627 vehicles were impounded and 326 vehicles were towed.
