Disaster prevention drill held

Singra in Natore marked National Disaster Preparedness Day-2026 with the theme “We will fight with disaster preparedness, we will build youth Bangladesh.”

A preparatory drill on earthquake response and fire safety was held on Tuesday in the Singra Court premises.

Organised by the upazila administration and the Department of Disaster Management, the drill featured fire service personnel demonstrating earthquake safety measures, fire extinguishing techniques, rescue operations, and public awareness activities.

Key attendees included Singra Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Rifat, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Shahadat Hossain, Upazila Election Officer Ujjwal Kumar Roy, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mithun Kundu, Upazila Social Service Officer Abu Daud, and Singra Fire Service Civil Defence Sub-Officer (Officer-in-Charge) Abdul Shahin.
