Govt recruitment sees political partisan: Nahid

Staff Reporter :

Opposition Chief Whip and National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has alleged that partisan appointments are being made across various government offices, including the appointment of party leaders as administrators in city corporations.

He made the remarks while addressing an iftar gathering organised by the National Citizen Party at a community centre in Sylhet on Tuesday.

“Another struggle must be prepared for. This time, we want to take to the field with full strength and without mistakes,” Nahid said, adding that his party would raise issues in parliament from a position of accountability.

Speaking at the event, NCP Chief Organiser Nasiruddin Patwary said the party would not retreat “even an inch” from its demand for justice over the killing of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. “No matter how powerful those involved may be, they will be brought under the law,” he said.

Nasiruddin also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to ensuring employment opportunities and business prospects for young people.

Leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, among other political parties, attended the iftar programme.
