Please be a little humane: Peya Jannatul
Entertainment Report :
A video of a lost baby monkey at Japan’s Ichikawa City Zoo has recently gone viral on
social media.
The video shows a motherless little monkey clinging to a soft toy with utmost affection.
The scene has also touched popular model, lawyer and actress Peya Jannatul.
However, she has expressed her anger at the promotional tactics of various brands capitalising on this helplessness.
In a post, Peya Jannatul wrote, “I saw him (the baby monkey) hugging a soft toy. Honestly, I can’t help but feel bad after watching the video.
A small animal just looking for a little cuddle. But what happened next, I didn’t like it. Many brands started tagging his name, adding his story to their products.”
She strongly criticised the use of the suffering of helpless animals as ‘content’, saying, “They wrote emotional words and marketed it. That means even the suffering of a baby animal is now content.
To me, it seems very selfish. It is not right to use the emotions of a helpless animal for one’s own gain.”
Highlighting the importance of the holy month of Ramadan, the actress further said, “It’s Ramadan now. We ourselves understand what hunger is by fasting. We feel that stomachache before iftar.
So, think about how the animals on the streets who don’t eat every day feel?” Finally, Peya Jannatul wrote, requesting her fans and followers to be humane, “Please be a little humane. If possible, give some food, take care of us.
May Ramadan remind us not only of our own worship, but also of our responsibility towards helpless animals.”
Incidentally, Peya Jannatul is also involved in the legal profession along with showbiz. She is a Supreme Court lawyer.
She used to work with Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon, former Awami League MP from Habiganj-4 constituency and Supreme Court lawyer.
