Govt distributes portfolios to eight advisers
Staff Reporter :
The newly formed government has distributed portfolios to eight out of ten appointed advisers with specific ministries.
According to an official notification released by the Cabinet Division on Friday stated.
Earlier this week, the government had announced the appointment of ten advisors, and now the departments they will oversee have been finalised.
These advisers will play a crucial role in the functioning of the government, with key areas assigned to them.
Among the advisers with ministerial status, three senior political figures – Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed – have been appointed as political advisors to the Prime Minister.
Mohammad Ismail Jabiullah has been given the responsibility for public administration, while economist Rashed Al Mahmood Titumir has been named as the finance adviser.
At the junior ministerial level, three other advisers have been assigned multiple important ministries.
Brigadier General (Retd.) Shamsul Islam will oversee the Ministry of Defence.
Mahdi Amin will handle a wide range of areas, including the Ministry of Education, Primary and Mass Education, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Rehan Asif Asad has been tasked with managing the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, along with the Ministry of Science and Technology.
This allocation of responsibilities is expected to bring greater efficiency to the administration of these ministries, with the hope of streamlining operations and improving coordination across the government.
While the duties for eight of the advisers have now been confirmed, the responsibilities for the remaining two are still to be announced.
It is expected that the details for these appointments will be revealed in the near future as the government continues to organise its structure.
The distribution of these key roles marks a significant step in the new administration’s efforts to strengthen governance and drive forward its agenda for the people of Bangladesh.
