Following a landslide victory in the 13th national election, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a 50-member cabinet, including three women — all newly elected Members of Parliament. Among them, one has been appointed as a full minister and two as state ministers.
Afroza Khanom, elected for the first time from Manikganj-3, will serve as the Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism.
Shama Obaed Islam, a first-time MP from Faridpur-2, has been named State Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Farzana Sharmin, newly elected from Natore-1, will take on the role of State Minister for Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare.
The cabinet members were sworn in at a ceremony held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Tuesday.
The new government, headed by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, consists of 25 ministers and 24 state ministers.
