Prof ASM Abdul Haseeb, a professor at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), has been appointed as the first vice-chancellor of the newly-formed Dhaka Central University, which is composed of seven government colleges in Dhaka.

The appointment was made in a notice from the Ministry of Education’s Secondary and Higher Education Department (SHED) on Sunday.

The notice was then announced by the SHED on Monday.
