SmartSoil AI BD youth Naimur wins Chinese iTech award

Staff Reporter :

Bangladeshi IT expert and entrepreneur Naimur Rahman has won the Talent Award at the 13th Chaoyang International Talent Entrepreneurship Conference (iTech 2025), held in Beijing, the capital of China.

He received this globally prestigious award on Wednesday. Naimur Rahman is the Founder and CEO of SmartSoil AI, an artificial intelligence–based agritech startup.

The international conference was organized under the supervision of the Chaoyang District Government of Beijing, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and government representatives from various countries. Among them, SmartSoil AI was selected for the award. Along with the honor, Naimur Rahman and his team received prize money of 200,000 Chinese RMB, equivalent to BDT 3.5 million.

Through the www.smartsoilai.com app developed by his team, agricultural decision-making for small and medium-scale farmers has been made easier, more affordable, and data-driven.

The platform integrates artificial intelligence, satellite remote sensing, and IoT technology, including a portable AI-based soil testing device.

This enables farmers to quickly obtain accurate information on soil quality, which plays a vital role in crop selection, fertilizer management, and disease control.

In addition to the iTech 2025 Talent Award, SmartSoil AI has already gained global attention by receiving several international and government-level recognitions, including Winner of Venture Builders 2025 (with a prize equivalent to 30,000 Chinese currency) and awards from the UNESCO and Tsinghua University–organized Youth Climate Action and Disaster Resilience Challenge, among others.”
