SUB inaugurates 18th Pharma Week

The Department of Pharmacy under the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the State University of Bangladesh (SUB) inaugurated its 18th Pharma Week 2026, a week-long co-curricular program scheduled to be held on the ongoing week.
The inauguration ceremony featured a colorful rally, ribbon-cutting, and the release of pigeons and gas balloons, marking the formal commencement of the event and reflecting the enthusiasm of the participating students, says a press release.
Mohammad Atiquzzaman, Director (Marketing) of Square Pharmaceuticals PLC, attended the program as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasised the evolving role of pharmacy professionals and highlighted the responsibilities and opportunities awaiting future pharmacy graduates.
Aminul Islam, Manager (PMD), Square Pharmaceuticals PLC, and a distinguished alumnus of the Department of Pharmacy, was present as the Special Guest.
The event was also attended by Dr. Hassan Kawsar, Treasurer; Dr. Ahmed Hussain, Registrar; Ms. Farhana Sharmin, Additional Registrar; Prof. Saiful Islam Pathan, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences; Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy; along with faculty members and students of the department.
The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rashid, Adviser, Department of Pharmacy, State University of Bangladesh.
Pharma Week 2026 aims to promote academic excellence, professional development, and active student engagement through a series of academic and co-curricular activities throughout the week.
